Requirements / organisational issues:
Degree of Middle Egyptian I-II. Knowledge of hieratic is not required, but desirable. Interested participants are kindly requested to contact the lecturer due to the special didactic concept.
Compulsory attendance:
None; however, it is necessary for the students to organize working meetings among themselves.
Contents:
In the spirit of research-based teaching, the students, under the supervision of the lecturer, will produce a publication, including a paleography, on the teachings of Kagemni, which will be submitted as a manuscript to an Egyptological journal after the seminar. All participating students will be named as authors and will ideally edit their own sections of the manuscript according to their personal level of knowledge.
In addition to the technical knowledge, students will learn about
- scientific writing for the professional audience
- time and project management
- the structure of a scientific publication in comparison to a term paper
- the peculiarities of a peer review process
- the requirements of publishers and publication bodies

Digital teaching:
This course is offered hybrid as far as possible. However, due to the didactic concept, individual lessons will take place in presence.
