This course is open for master students of conference interpreting from the Russian department. In addition to active participation the succesful completion of the course requires a final exam.
Contents:
In this course students will continue to acquire simultaneous interpreting skills. The level of difficulty increases in terms of the complexity and speed of the training material. In this context, other aspects of conference interpreting such as interpreting strategies are also addressed.
The course prepares students for the module examination in simultaneous interpreting after the second semester, in which they will be required to simultaneously interpret a 10-minute text of medium difficulty and moderate speed from Russian into German.
Assessment criteria and thus learning objectives for this course are, in particular, completeness, correctness and coherence of content, correct and appropriate use of German, application of interpreting strategies as well as presentation skills.
