Contents:
The aim of the course is to provide a solid basis for your further studies. At the end of the course, you will not only know what is meant by (translational) academic work, but will also be able to apply this knowledge.
During the course, we will therefore address the following topics, among others:
- What is science?
- What is academic working?
- Basics and methods of translation studies (research, empirical studies, statistics)
- How to write texts that are appropriate to their type
- Academic writing (e.g. structure and outline of theses)
- Citing correctly
- Efficient research
Additional information:
The course is a blended learning programme, i.e. face-to-face sessions are complemented by the opportunities for collaboration offered by the internet and new media. It is therefore expected that participants have basic media competence or are willing to engage with new media. An internet-capable device should be brought to each session.
The course language is German.
