Contents: At Tell Hariri, the ancient city of Mari, a large palace archive was found that provides an important insight into the Old Babylonian period of the 19th and 18th centuries BC. In particular, the thousands of letters (received or preserved as copies of letters sent) are of inestimable value for understanding the political and cultural situation of the northern Syrian center and its environment of importance. In the reading course, letters from the time of the last reigning ruler, Zimri-lim, will be read and linguistic features of the text corpus will be discussed.
