The level of the texts is intended for students starting the Polish-German translation exercises (usually from the 2nd semester).
The translations are made by the students independently outside the class on their own computers. In class, the translation proposals are discussed anonymously in the group.
Guest auditors and ERASMUS students are welcome.
Language of instruction: German
Compulsory attendance:
To pass the course, regular attendance as well as regular submission of completed translations is required.
Students who need a written exam (ungraded or graded) to complete the course will write this exam in the penultimate session. The exam includes the production of a translation from Polish into German. Further details will be discussed in the course of the semester.
Contents:
In the course of the course, the participants produce translations of common language texts on the topic of tourism. The translation proposals are discussed together and individual translation decisions are critically reflected upon.
The course focuses on the basics of source text analysis, building research skills, strengthening text production skills, and professional use of the computer.
Each week, the instructor uploads a new translation assignment to the Moodle platform. Over the course of the week, students work on the translation independently and submit it to the instructor via email by the deadline. The translations are discussed in the following session.
Digital teaching:
The first session on 24.10.2023 will take place online. All course participants registered at that time will receive a link for a Microsoft Teams session in a timely manner. Together with the course participants registered at that time, it will be decided whether the course will take place online or on-site in Germersheim over the entire semester.
