Inhalt:
Ziel der Vorlesung ist es, zwar nicht "die", aber doch "eine" Geschichte der Filmmusik zu skizzieren. Schwerpunkte werden auf der Geschichte des "Stumm"- und frühen Tonfilms sowie auf der Herausbildung von Genrekonventionen liegen. Dabei werden wir am Rande auch andere Möglichkeiten medialer Einsätze von Musik streifen.

Empfohlene Literatur:
Auch wenn der Forschungsstand nicht mehr aktuell ist, sei als Überblick das Buch "Film Music, A Neglected Art: A Critical Study of Music in Films" von Roy M. Prendergast zur Anschaffung empfohlen (2. Aufl., New York / London 1992).
