Inhalt: The seminar explores newly arising forms of entrepreneurship and labor which are related to and dependent on social media. This includes the emergence of small-scale businesses, for instance, by selling hand-crafted products on online-platforms or by becoming “mumpreneurs” using twitter or blogs for sharing parental experiences and placing products. Such new economic activities are analyzed from a geographical perspective. After dealing with relevant texts on labor in the digital age and online methods, the students will start an own qualitative analysis of selected social media activities. A report has to be submitted at the end of the course.
