Inhalt: This seminar discusses fictional representations of organ transplantation and situates them in their contemporary contexts. By navigating the topic’s cultural significance, this seminar aims to draw attention to transplantation’s employment as a narrative device but also as the cause for ongoing controversial discussion. Specific emphasis will be placed on transplantation in popular culture, prominently in speculative works and young adult fiction. Please consider before choosing the seminar that our discussions will focus on topics that may be difficult or triggering such as brain death, open bodies and body parts.

Digitale Lehre: This course takes place on Wednesday 10-12 and is a synchronous online course taught via Microsoft Teams. Students are expected to participate regularly.
