Inhalt: Mental Health is not only a medical, but also a cultural topic. Culture and society have a crucial impact on health and wellbeing (of both mind and body). Therefore, awareness for the topic in cultural studies should be fostered and deepened. This practice-based course is intended to revolve around the question: How can my research benefit my community? Central questions to be asked are: - What kinds of language do we use surrounding the topic of "Mental Health"? How do these influence our perceptions and actions? - How is "mental health" treated in different languages / cultures? - What does our faculty / the university offer to support students with their mental health? How is that visible on campus / online? - In which languages is mental health information given on the university websites? - How can translation contribute to multiply mental health awareness? Students may choose their own projects surrounding mental health at our campus / in student life. The project should include a translatory aspect. Students with languages in addition to English/German are very welcome. Ideally, the projects would cover as many languages as possible. Project outcomes could be presented in the form of a walk-by exhibition on campus.
