Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches: Prerequisites: Students who have completed the B1 English Intermediate course will be given priority; students who have reached level B2.1 in the placement test will also be given a priority. Inhalt: In a world that is characterized by migration and globalization, intercultural communication skills are becoming increasingly important in most professions. The ability to perceive and understand the differences between cultures is key to establishing a mutual connection. In this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of cultural differences and their significance. By applying the cultural theories developed by Hall, Hofstede and Trompenaars, students will examine case studies to improve their intercultural and cross-cultural skills on both personal and professional levels. Students learn to • reflect on their own cultural norms and behavior • understand cultural differences • identify intercultural misunderstandings • communicate sensitively • feel secure and confident when navigating the international workforce • write emails using appropriate language • respond to difficult emails • use impact strategies for presentations
