Requirements / organisational issues:
The age of modernism brought forth some of the most prolific writers of short fiction in English. This seminar aims to provide an introduction to the analysis of short fiction as well as to the manifold stylistic and thematic innovations of modernist writing. Authors to be discussed include Joseph Conrad, James Joyce, D.H. Lawrence, Katherine Mansfield, May Sinclair and Virginia Woolf. All texts will be provided online.
