Contents:
In discussing 21st-century TV comedy, we will provide different approaches to reading TV as an academic text rather than providing a chronological survey of UK sitcoms of the past 20 years. We will consider TV comedy as an aspect of material culture, an expression of social and national identities, an intertext in constant contact with other texts, and finally as an object of aesthetic analysis.
