Contents:
Ambiguity, doubt, meaninglessness, the void, infinity. These are just a small number of the daunting concepts associated with postmodernism. This seminar is designed to acquaint students with various textual as well as cognitive practices of postmodern texts. Concepts of modernism and realism will help us explore the fuzzy boundaries of postmodernism as we situate the texts in the contexts of their production and reception. We shall, of course, also discuss the aptness of the label ‘postmodern’ itself.
