Legal English is a language course aimed at developing workable English skills for attorneys. The primary focus of the class is not Anglo-American legal principles - although many of these will necessarily be learned - but on applying proper English usage and grammar to legal speech and writing. Classes will address four areas of law that are likely to requre English skills: contracts, torts, litigation/arbitration, and company law.
Additional information:
As you can imagine, the course will be held in English. At the end of the semester, students will complete a computer-administered exam. Those who pass will receive the Certificate of Foreign Language Proficiency (Fremdsprachenschein) necessary for graduation from the School of Law.
