This course is an introduction to social science methodology.
First, we will discuss basic questions: what is science? What is social science? What is a theory? What is a concept? What is the difference between explaining and understanding?
Second, we will discuss research design on political science. What is a good research question? How to select cases? How to operationalize? How to compare? What is a typology?
Third, we will discuss concrete research designs to show how to practice what we preach.
