Contents:
This course aims to provide the participants with a profound understanding of econometric methods and tools with a particular focus on applied econometrics. We will follow a two-pillar concept by combining methodological lectures with empirical examples in the computer lab, using the software tool Stata. We will begin by reviewing some basic principles of econometrics and move on to the linear regression methodology, panel data sets and specification issues.
 
Please note that the course starts with two additional sessions of Stata introductory tutorials held by Dr. Constantin Weiser. Since the tutorials throughout the course are based on Stata, it is essential that students actively take part in these Stata introductory tutorials.

Students are obliged to submit a take-home with Stata questions between the two sessions. To assist you we provide an open consultation on April 24th and on 25th. On both days consultations will take place from 10:00-12:00 and from 13:00-16:00 in the PC-Pool 00-275. More detailed information you can obtain via ILIAS and in the first session.

On Wednesday, 2nd May, we start with the regular sessions.
