Contents:
This course is particularly aimed at students in their second semester. It is designed to deepen your knowledge of English poetry and equip you with the necessary means to analyse it. While studying poetry across the literary periods, from Renaissance, over Romantic to contemporary poetry, you will expand and strengthen your ability to access and interpret poems, place them in their time of creation and develop scholarly approaches in addressing themes and topics within them. Throughout the semester, you will also acquire and practice key academic skills, such as research, working with secondary texts, forming arguments, and writing a final research paper.
