Beyond Clichés is an exceptional and cross-disciplinary course where you develop your skills in successful intercultural communication and experience Mainz as an international team. You get to know fellow students from Mainz and abroad.
This course is taught in English.
Contents:
Aim:
We are keen to welcome students from Mainz and all over the world to participate in a comprehensive intercultural training course. Participants learn about successful intercultural communication and experience Mainz in international teams each consisting of students from Mainz and abroad.
Content:
Taught by Ellen Rana, a professional intercultural trainer and academic, participants get to know the basic concepts and theories of intercultural communication and apply their knowledge to their own intercultural experience. Students are enabled to actively shape their own appearance in international contexts and engage successfully in intercultural communication.
Course work:
The course work consists of an exceptional group work experience whereby mixed teams of German and international students explore Mainz on four regional field trips. They document and share their intercultural experience together in a blog.
