In this course the students will learn the basics of stellar physics.
In addition to regular lectures, several sessions of hand-on exercises will be planned.
At the end of the course students will be required to give a presentation on a selected topic of stellar physics.
Compulsory attendance:
The validation of the course credits requires regular partecipation to the hand-on exercises and to the final seminars
Contents:
Star properties and classification - HR Diagram, Age of stars, Star formation and evolution
Nuclear fusion in stars - Stellar Structure
Endpoints of stellar evolution - Interstellar medium and galaxies
